Information for North Coast Ocean Enthusiasts
Sonoma Coast On-Line Field Guide
Ocean Discovery! and the Bodega Marine Laboratory are developing a web-based, Internet-accessible field guide for marine life of the Sonoma County coast. Scientists, students, teachers, tidepoolers, and beachcombers will be able to enter general descriptions of marine plants and animals they find (for example, “orange worm” or “purple jellyfish”) and obtain specific information such as common and scientific names, photographs, maps and habitat descriptions, and special notes on their natural history. This resource should be available in late 2005.
